AeroShell 100 is a straight grade mineral oil. It doesn't contain any additives except for small amounts of pour point depressant to improve fluidity at very low temperatures, and an anti-oxidant. AeroShell 100 is approved for all aviation piston engines when then use of an oil not containing a dispersant additive is required; however, they should be used during new engine and recently overhauled engine break-in. The specially blended High Viscosity Index base oils in AeroShell 100 have been designed to provide effective protection to engine components compared to conventional mineral oils.
