SkyView Adds Wireless Connectivity to Mobile Devices

One Wi-Fi adapter is required for each SkyView display installed in an aircraft, maintaining system redundancy. Only one per aircraft is used on AF-5000 series systems.

Connect SkyView to your mobile devices via the Wi-Fi Adapter, and use apps to flight plan from home and transfer once at the aircraft.

SkyView can now connect to: Seattle Avionics FlyQ, ForeFlight Mobile, PocketFMS EasyVFR, iFlyGPS, and SkyDemon iOS/Android apps, via Wi-Fi. This connectivity makes flight planning and preparation easier and more efficient for those of you who fly with the mentioned mobile flight planning options, and also allows your device to benefit from SkyView's GPS position and flight instruments. Note that not all apps support all capabilities - check with your app maker to determine their latest EFIS connectivity features.

Seamless Flight Planning
Plan your flights at home using your app's comprehensive flight planning features. Once at the airplane, save time by sending the planned route to your SkyView system via W-Fi. Flight plans sent from ForeFlight can be edited on SkyView and flown by the SkyView Autopilot. You can transfer updated flight plans between the devices at any time.

WAAS GPS and SkyView instruments for Apps
Pilots can also benefit from SkyView's built-in WAAS GPS, which can drive aircraft position in your app (if supported by the app). This is great for those with Wi-Fi-only iPads, and provides an additional high-availability GPS source for GPS-equipped devices.

When connected to SkyView, your app can also 's attitude indicator can be driven by the same IFR-capable ADAHRS installed in every SkyView aircraft (if supported by the app). This allows your app's attitude indication, other instruments, and Synthetic Vision displays to show the same depiction for the best possible in-flight situational awareness.
